05:59 pm - Skipping Christmas! Buahahahahahahahaha I'm really not a fan of the holidays. My parents have been divorced since I was 5 and since then I've spent every holiday being shuttled between homes. Even worse when my dad moved to Seattle when we still lived in Spokane, worse still when I was married to Stump and we had MORE stops to make in that ever crucial 36 hour period. This also happens to be the time of year when I finally left Stump. Those of you on my Facebook know that Dec. 14th marked ten years since I got away and let me tell you, the first few weeks after you leave an abuser is none too pleasant. Add to that the fact that what we celebrate as "the birth of Christ" is really an arbitrary date made up by the Church many centuries ago to coincide with Solstice & sucker the pagans into coming to church...yeah I'm not just a fan of the season. Normally, even though Paul & I don't decorate or celebrate, we'll stop in at my dad's one day and my mom's the next and call it good. I like wrapping and giving gifts but at this point it's almost MORE fun NOT to do it at Christmas. But this year Dad & I aren't on great terms and after the Thanksgiving fiasco I'm not driving back to mom's at Ocean Shores. So this year I've made the executive decision to skip Christmas. I'm not going to bend over backwards to be anywhere or buy anything by a certain date and generally inconvenience myself for other people. I'm going to sleep in, maybe go get dim sum with my husband, go see "sherlock Holmes" and generally enjoy MYself. This isn't to say "ZOMGs I hate X-mas!" or the people who love it, I'm just doing things my own way this year. Time for Paul & I to start our own family traditions :) Current Mood: accomplished Current Music: Gilmore Girls

07:36 pm - Fried Lemon's Here I Come! So, we're not playing with them this time, but everyone should come out to Neumos's on Saturday to see my friends Sky Cries Mary play! They do a great live show. Here's an example of them and also of us playing with them, just cuz we won't be playing for awhile and I don't want anyone to forget about us. First SCM and then Us. And seriously, the next time we DO play live, someone get some more footage of, us. We're soooo much better now!
